GW Women’s Soccer Drops Road Match to Saint Mary’s

By GW Athletic Department

MORAGA, Calif. – Playing in its first game on the West Coast since 2005, the George Washington women’s soccer team fell 3-0 to Saint Mary’s Aug. 26 in non-conference action. The Colonials drop to 0-2 on the season while the Gaels improve to 1-0-1, in the first-ever meeting between the two clubs.

GW and Saint Mary’s exchanged shots throughout the first half, but the Gaels finally connected on goal less than three minutes before halftime. A shot on goal was denied by Colonials senior goalkeeper Lindsey Rowe, but Jordan Marada collected the deflection from close range and sent the ball to the back of the net to notch Saint Mary’s first goal.
