No. 5 Terps Open With Win over No. 22 Minnesota

Junior Danielle Hubka scored the game’s lone goal to give the No. 5/6 University of Maryland women’s soccer team a hard-fought 1-0 victory over No. 22 Minnesota Friday night at Ludwig Field in the 2011 season opener.

Georgetown Routs George Washington 3-0

Sophomore defender Kailey Blain scored two goals in the season opener scoring the game winner just 30 second into the contest. Senior midfielder Ingrid Wells  added a penalty kick in the second half making the final 3-0 as No. 23 Georgetown University women’s soccer squad rolled past George Washington. In goal, junior Hanna Monson had three saves for the Blue & Gray.

Women’s Soccer Controls Play in 2-1 Win over UMBC

Junior Carleigh Morba and sophomore Shaena Alfonsi each recorded goals as the American University women’s soccer team earned a 2-1 victory over Maryland-Baltimore County Friday afternoon in the season opener.
